My Skills

I have skills that could align to a job in growth, content strategy or content design in a number of industries.

Content Strategy

I have a decade of experience making content strategy decisions, both for short-term daily coverage and for strategic long-term planning meant to help hit certain KPIs. Thanks to my editorial background, I know how to work closely with editors to develop a content plan that aligns with their goals, tone and standards.

UX And Design Thinking

In my User Experience Design Diploma program at NYU, I explored the UX Design process for both user-facing tools and content management system tools. I conducted user research with surveys and interviews, built personas and user journeys, and created wireframes with Adobe XD.  I am also continuously teaching myself relevant skills such as Figma.

Data Analytics

I am proficient in Excel, Sheets, Google Analytics (including GA4), Adobe Analytics and Looker, and I'm currently teaching myself SQL. More importantly, I know how to dig into these tools to come away with actionable takeaways.

Artificial Intelligence

Outside of work, I treat AI as my personal assistant. I have used it as a sounding board for a variety of tasks, including building a meal plan to meet my dietary needs, creating an "escape room"-themed party for my friends and building this very website.

Leadership and Management

I helped hire and train most of a 9-person team, including conducting interviews and building and reviewing strategy tests. At the Poynter Leadership Academy for Women in Media, I learned countless useful skills to listen in 1:1s, facilitate meetings so we accomplish our goals, and coach employees as they shape their careers.

SEO

Since SEO is my background, it's a part of everything I do. My particular strengths are in SEM Rush, Google Search Console, keyword research, content audits, content optimization, SEO reporting, algorithm updates and communicating with stakeholders  – especially product teams – about SEO needs.

Training and Public Speaking

I have used Google Slides, Canva, Powerpoint and Prezi to build presentations and training resources. In addition to 1:1 trainings, I regularly lead refresher sessions for large teams, and I've led a training for dozens of our international employees. I was also a speaker in an ASME Next panel about the future of SEO.

Content Design

I do a surprising amount of writing in my content strategy role. This writing is often meant to help stakeholders (including editors, commerce strategists and product owners) understand how to create content for readers. In this way, my stakeholders could be considered my "users," and it's my job to deliver targeted messages that make their tasks (AKA their jobs) easier to complete.
